Family background and psychopathy

There is good evidence documenting the role of negative parenting in the expression of offspring psychopathic traits (Fontaine et al., 2011;Loeber et al., 2009;Vitacco et al., 2003;Waller et al., 2013). However, most research on parenting and psychopathy is conducted with youth samples, and there is a re- lative absence of such research with adult offenders (Farrington, 2006).
