How to spend Christmas Day alone

Before Christmas Day arrives, take a bit of time to think about what Christmas and more specifically what Christmas Day means to you. Consider how you can incorporate regular traditions and how you want to spend the day.

If it’s a tough time of year for you, scrap the Christmas stuff and lean into the sadness but also try to do things that will make you happy or laugh – read your favourite book, watch your favourite movie or cook your favourite food. While Christmas is meant to be a time of joy, it can be a source of sadness for so many who have lost family members or for various other reasons. Don’t feel pressure to celebrate, do what’s best for you.
