Warmth dimension of parenting
A continuum of parenting defined at one end by (perceived) parental acceptance and at the other end by (perceived) parental rejection. All humans can be placed (or place themselves ) somewhere along this continuum. The warmth dimension has to do with the quality of the affectional bond between parents and their children, and with the physical and verbal behaviors parents use to express their feelings. The warmth dimension of parenting must be distinguished from parental warmth per se on the warmth/affection scale below.
