Looking forward to Christmas.

Well, I feel I have come a long way over the past 3 years since starting this website.

I have been applauded, congratulated, shunned and criticised and more for creating this website and speaking out!!!

The knowledge I have gained since I began my studies in psychology and started Therapy/counselling has been invaluable.

I have learnt that keeping quiet and trying to move on in your life before having released all the emotion and baggage from the past, only suppresses the emotions and eats away at you and makes you full of regrets.

After much discussion and soul-searching, I discovered that the hardships I endured in my youth being raised single handed by my mother paled into insignificance compared to that which I experienced throughout my first marriage and divorce!!!!!

So to all of those who advised against it and thought it was the wrong thing to do, in my case it is beneficial not only for myself but for others too. Having said that, I have been somewhat economical with the truth, as some of it is too horrendous to publish and I would not wish my grandchildren to read it.

My advice is to get out there tell your story by writing a book, starting a blog, taking therapy/counselling, just talk about it, Parental Alienation is nothing to be ashamed of. We cannot be responsible for the actions of our adult children, they are old enough to make their own decisions in life. We cannot change or control the behaviour of the alienator this is their own problem to deal and live with.

It has been 26 years for me now and I have adjusted my life accordingly to fit my situation and find great strength in helping others.

Remember for every one person out there trying to destroy you, there are probably at least 10 others who love you very much and will make your life special. You just need to get beyond holding it all in and thinking it will never change.

I am looking forward to Christmas day which is also my birthday, I am extremely lucky and I will be surrounded by people who love me and will make the day very special.

Happy Christmas Everyone xxx

  1. And a happy Christmas to you too. As an alienated parent myself I have found your posts extremely comforting and encouraging.
